Marrakech Design – Purchase conditions, returns and refunds

Policy Last updated on April 10, 2026

Placing orders

Orders can be placed directly by contacting Marrakech Design by email. You may also submit a quote request through our website, after which we will provide a quotation including pricing and estimated lead times.

An order is considered confirmed once you have received an order confirmation and invoice from Marrakech Design.

Although we may assist in estimating quantities for your project, all quantities must be verified by your architect, designer, contractor, installer, or equivalent professional. Marrakech Design cannot be held responsible for discrepancies in quantities. We recommend ordering an additional 10–15% to allow for cuts and wastage.

Payment

Payment for online sample, sealer, and cleaner orders can be made by credit card or Apple Pay.
Orders for full pallet shipments can be paid by bank transfer, card payment (in SEK), or via Swish for customers with a Swedish bank account.

Full payment must be received before dispatch of the order. Please note that international transfers may take up to five business days to reach our account.

Prices

All prices displayed on the website are stated in SEK (Swedish Krona) and include VAT (25%).

Marrakech Design reserves the right to adjust prices, correct typographical errors, update product information, and make changes due to circumstances beyond our control.

If you have received a price list, we recommend contacting us periodically to ensure you have the latest version.

Purchase agreement

Marrakech Design products are ordered through www.marrakechdesign.se/en, in our showroom or by email . A purchase agreement is established once Marrakech Design has confirmed your order by email and an invoice has been issued. By placing an order, you accept these Purchase Conditions.

Order planning

We recommend placing your order well in advance to allow sufficient time for production, shipping, delivery, and inspection prior to installation.

Please do not schedule installers or contractors before the goods have been delivered and inspected. Marrakech Design cannot be held responsible for delays, additional costs, or rescheduling fees related to installation appointments.

Samples and Batch Variations

As our cement and zellige tiles are handmade, natural variations in colour, texture, and size may occur and are considered part of the product’s character. Colours may also appear differently depending on lighting conditions and screen settings. If you are uncertain about colour or pattern selection, we strongly recommend ordering samples prior to placing a full order.

Samples are indicative only and may vary from the final production batch.

Delivery

Orders for full square metre quantities (pallet shipments) are shipped within Europe by DSV or FedEx. Deliveries within Sweden are shipped with PostNord. For shipments outside Europe, we offer both air freight and sea freight options for larger volumes.

Estimated delivery time for products in stock is approximately 5–14 working days, depending on the destination. For sea freight shipments, transit times are longer and will be advised prior to placing the order.

All deliveries are made to the delivery address only. Freight carriers do not carry goods inside private homes, apartments, or buildings. Deliveries are scheduled Monday to Friday during normal business hours.

Delivery times are estimates only and cannot be guaranteed. Marrakech Design is not responsible for delays caused by freight carriers, customs procedures, weather conditions, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Additional charges may apply for requested delivery time windows, storage, re-delivery, address changes, or other modifications requested after dispatch from our warehouse.

Failure to Accept Delivery

If a shipment cannot be delivered within a reasonable timeframe and is returned to Marrakech Design, the customer will be responsible for any return freight, storage, and re-delivery costs incurred.

Receipt of Goods and Transport Damage

Upon delivery, the recipient is responsible for inspecting the shipment and verifying that the quantity, product, colour, and condition correspond to the order.
Any visible transport damage must be noted directly with the freight carrier upon delivery and documented with photographs.

Claims regarding freight damage, missing goods, or incorrect deliveries must be submitted to Marrakech Design in writing within seven days of receipt of the goods. Claims submitted after this period may not be accepted.
The responsibility for inspection of the shipment lies with the recipient and cannot be transferred to a third party.

Customs Duties and Taxes Outside the EU

For deliveries outside the EU, local customs duties, taxes, and import fees will apply and are the responsibility of the customer.

Duty to Inspect Before Installation

All products must be inspected before installation.
As cement and zellige tiles are handmade products, variations in colour, texture, shade, and dimensions are natural characteristics and not considered defects. Variations between production batches may occur and should be expected.

If the product received does not meet your expectations, please contact Marrakech Design before installation. Claims regarding visible defects, colour variations, aesthetic appearance, or other characteristics that could reasonably have been identified prior to installation will not be accepted after installation. Installation of the product constitutes acceptance of the goods.

We recommend mixing tiles from different boxes during installation to achieve a balanced and natural appearance.

Returns and Right of Withdrawal

For distance purchases within the EU, private consumers have the right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 days from receipt of the goods, in accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation.

The right of withdrawal applies only to standard products and full orders. It does not apply to custom-made products, special orders, or purchases made by companies.

A request for return authorization must be submitted in writing within 14 days of receipt of the goods. Marrakech Design must confirm and approve the return before any goods are returned.

Returned goods must be unused and returned in their original packaging where possible. The customer is responsible for returning shipping costs and packaging materials.

Original shipping costs are non-refundable. Marrakech Design is not responsible for returned goods that are lost or damaged during return transport.

Refunds are issued by bank transfer within 30 days after the returned goods have been received and approved by Marrakech Design.

For purchases made through distributors or retailers, please contact them directly regarding returns or claims.

Collection of Goods / Ex Works

For orders collected directly by the customer or by a third party arranged by the customer under Ex Works (EXW) delivery terms, responsibility and risk transfer to the customer at the time of collection.

Collection dates must be confirmed by Marrakech Design. Marrakech Design accepts no responsibility for goods during transportation arranged by the customer.

Custom-Made Orders

Production lead times for custom-made orders will be advised in your quotation. Please note that production times may be affected by force majeure or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before production can begin. Custom-made orders cannot be cancelled once production has started.

The right of withdrawal does not apply to custom-made orders.

Product Images and Color Representation

We strive to present our products as accurately as possible. However, due to differences in screens, lighting conditions, and the handmade nature of our products, Marrakech Design cannot guarantee that colours and appearances shown in photographs will exactly correspond to the delivered product.

Marrakech Design cannot guarantee exact colour matching between separate orders placed at different times.

Storage before installation

Products must be stored in a dry, frost-free environment prior to installation.

Installation Guidelines

Marrakech Design recommends that installation is carried out by experienced professionals familiar with handmade cement and zellige tiles.

Force Majeure

Marrakech Design shall not be held liable for delays or failure to fulfil its obligations due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to changes in legislation, governmental actions, strikes, blockades, war, terrorism, fire, flood, natural disasters, transportation disruptions, or similar events.

If such circumstances continue for more than two months, both parties have the right to terminate the agreement without any obligation to pay compensation.

Privacy Policy

Marrakech Design processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

Personal information provided in connection with orders or inquiries is used solely for customer communication, order handling, delivery, accounting, and related administration. Personal data will not be sold or shared with third parties except where necessary to fulfil the order or comply with legal obligations.

Claims and Liability

Marrakech Design does not accept responsibility for installation work, sealing, treatment, maintenance, or refinishing performed by third parties.
As handmade cement and zellige tiles are natural and artisanal products, slight variations are part of their intended appearance and character.

Claims regarding defects or issues that could reasonably have been identified prior to installation will not be accepted after installation.

Governing Law

These Purchase Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with Swedish law.
