Marrakech Design’s first collection together with Wingårdh Arkitektkontor, Pop + Paper Cuts, was released in 2023 and designed by Maja Gödicke and Leila Atlassi, designers and interior architects at Wingårdhs. The collection consists of five patterns — Pop, Plus, Sol, Porto, and Bibbla.
Pop and Plus are based on simple geometric forms such as the square, circle, and line. Individually minimal, the tiles create playful and unexpected compositions when repeated across larger surfaces.
Sol, Porto, and Bibbla explore the relationship between positive and negative shapes and the character of hand-cut forms. The patterns emerged from the meeting between Leila Atlassi’s fragmented childhood memories of Casablanca and Maja Gödicke’s exploration of analogue methods, colour, and imperfect forms. Soft neighboring tones tie the collection together, creating a calm yet graphic expression.
